My Opinions

I have been a political junkie for most of my life seeing the subtle and profound effects government has on our daily lives. Tax and regulatory actions by any governmental entity have an immense negative influence on not only the overall economy but our personal finances as well. It is my overall opinion that government should be undoing what has been enacted, rather than imposing more problematic barriers to this economy.

The Government Corruption Orgy

Government by it’s very nature is deceitful and inefficient, therefor it is necessary for those in the private sector to discern what is truth, and maintain a more effective private sector based on freedom. Legislators blackmail businesses into relinquishing campaign contributions under threat of financial devastation in favor of a more friendly competitor. The United States Constitution was written in order to preserve and enforce liberty by limiting the size of government and empowering those who are governed.

There are some definitions that have become distorted over the past decades in order to expand the parasitic nature of governance, consequently promoting indolence and apathy. The characterization of a capitalist has been perverted to symbolize a larcenist when in reality just the opposite is true. A capitalist is someone who applies his effort, skill, and intelligence to create a product in order to exchange it for voluntary equitable remuneration. A true capitalist’s morals will accept nothing more or less than what is earned through a mutually agreed upon basis.

Freedom has erroneously exemplified something that can only be realized at the expense of someone else. Actual freedom is the undeniable natural state of mankind, representing choice and liberty propagating itself through joy and moral self-reliance without sacrificing anyone’s individual manumission. Freedom can never be relinquished for the sake of imagined security, as only slavery will be the result.

Individualism and Freedom

The term "rugged individualist" conjures up visions of an antisocial mountain man from a bygone era, clothed in animal hides, trapping beaver, and carrying a large black powder rifle. In reality an individualist is someone who not only believes in the virtue of his or her personal self worth and ability, but believes in that of others. That person of virtue would never ask that someone else’s wealth be taken by force to benefit him, as there can only be equitable compensation for the fruit of one’s labor in a free society. Because the quality of his product and the effort it represents stands for itself he, does not understand the thug who would steal it. The merit of this high morality is obviously self apparent overshadowed only by indisputable reality. Individualists have carried many labels; freedom loving, capitalist, libertarian, entrepreneur, conservative, independent, and more. For those who try to stigmatize a conservative as fascist you must realize that fascism requires private economic enterprise be under governmental control, which is the antithesis of individualism. A true capitalist expects only to earn what he or she receives and any benevolent expenditure must be by freedom of choice.

Political Change: Freedom

Link: http://writersworld4all.com/b2/index.php/glenn-raymond-politics

Here we go again..... Another threat of a government shutdown, with politicos pointing fingers, gnashing their teeth, and threatening apocalyptic consequences if the other side doesn’t comply with big spending demands. Democrats on the left insist on higher taxes and more spending, while Republicans lobby for less.

For those of you that haven’t noticed Republicans control the congress, liberal Democrats dominate the senate, and president Obama is a liberal Democrat. All three branches of government must agree on specific legislation before any law is passed. Democrats controlled all three branches for the first two years of the Obama administration imposing an unprecedented decline in private sector prosperity and increased government spending.

Democrats today have no appetite for rational spending cuts or allowing the private sector to create meaningful jobs. Liberal democrats are sacrificing private sector jobs, profit, innovation, and individual freedom to their big government Deity with the hope that the American people will buy into a fantasy of an effort free existence filled with lollipops and cotton candy at someone else’s expense, when their true goal is ultimate power and control. Their tactics to achieve domination include threats of government shutdown, personal attacks on those who would disagree with them, proxy intimidation, lies, and distraction to other issues whether real or imagined. Any spending cuts agreed to by these left wing radicals always effect only the most essential governmental services, never bloated corrupt indulgences whose benefits are dubious at best. Big government politicians prey on mankind’s weakest desire to be taken care of like small children, knowing full well they are subjugating most of their constituency to abject slavery..... Put another way forced altruism is enslavement, altruism must be voluntary.

Occupy Wall Street

Unemployment, poverty, and desperation cultivates seething civil unrest, which if left unresolved can evolve into destructive mobs empowering government to remove the very freedom and prosperity these crowds desire most. People are understandably angry, but everyone must completely comprehend the cause and solution for that rage. Statists in the left wing of the Democrat party hope these protests turn violent thus sanctioning even more centralized power implemented through brute force. Let us not be deceived the Republican party also has a thirst for ultimate governmental power (although at a somewhat lower level) and we must always be vigilant, rejecting those notions outright.

Protests are spreading across the country which are informally labeled "The Occupy Wall Street Crowd". It is now becoming just the "Occupy" movement. The actual demands for these people are difficult to ascertain through simple interviews, with answers ranging from "I’m not really sure" and "Tax the rich", to "Legalize pot". On the surface they seem to be just a bunch of losers who are merely angry, and not sure why. An overwhelming theme involves exacting those things they desire at the expense of someone else’s hard work. There are even some that attribute a supernatural mystic ability to government for supplying everyone’s needs without anyone producing them. Upon deeper analysis the "Occupy Wall Street" protest crowd appears to be an incoherent group of underdogs objecting to wealthy corporations accepting government handouts without regard for common working people. On the surface this may sound like a noble cause but the source problem is government making giveaways available in the first place.

It is obvious that many people in this movement do not have the mental capability to grasp anything beyond hatred for anyone who has more than themselves, but there are some who’s deductive ability can understand genuine solutions formulated through easily accessible knowledge and the wisdom to apply it. Those who cling only to loathing jealousy become a legion of parasites under a collective stupor intent upon destroying the very productive individuals they feed upon. Hate filled people will always support and vote for any politician who demonizes fruitful virtues. Persons that choose to exercise there cognitive ability to work and adhere to earned material values slant toward those officials who uphold true economic freedom. Productive individuals must always be cautious that they don’t succumb to false rhetoric and investigate the long-term consequences of specific actions. Government can never help the poor efficiently, it can only be done via a one on one basis in a free society.

Democrats are comparing the "Occupy Wall Street" movement to the "Tea Party" without mentioning unequivocal differences. During "Tea Party" rallies local small businesses thrived because of clean, paying customers who frequented their establishments along side of regular patrons. Portable toilets were supplied by the "Tea Party" organization, thereby not burdening near by firms with too many rest room requests. "Tea Party" participants stayed in local motels, enhancing economic benefit. After the rally was over they cleaned up behind themselves and went home. There were no arrests necessary at any "Tea Party" rally. The "Tea Party" advocates smaller government and a productive law abiding lifestyle. The "Tea Party" is not asking for any bail outs and wants to stop any that government can conceive of, corporate or otherwise. True freedom cannot be achieved at the expense of others!

The "Occupy" movement people are harming small businesses by making it difficult for regular paying customers to gain access. While some movement individuals do purchase meals and other things they are too few to compensate for the primary lost revenue. Local establishments are inundated with people using their rest rooms because none were supplied by the "Occupy" organizers. These people simply expect others, including the government, to supply their needs, which is a clear indicator of their mindset. Most of the "Occupy Wall Street" participants are staying in tents, defying local ordinances, and not bathing regularly. Some have said the stench is rather strong to say the least. Illegal drug use seems to be commonplace in the "Occupy" gatherings and I suppose this could explain, in part, a lack of compressive solutions put forth by the movement. The "Occupy Wall Street" crowd wants personal bailouts for themselves rather than Wall Street corporations. These people obviously didn’t notice that the very politicians they support are the ones who maintain the corrupt relationship between government and select corporations. "Occupy" participants expect their subsistence to be supplied at someone else’s expense and labeling it "their fair share", without perceiving the flaw in a philosophical perspective that relies on economic cannibalism to maintain itself. There have sadly been numerous arrests during this ongoing "Occupy" demonstration due to the disregard for other peoples property by individual participants. We will see if they clean up behind themselves, or expect a "mommy government" to do that also.

With enormous government debt and high unemployment, admittedly we live in perilous times. Leaders continue to shun reality while attempting the same failed Socialist and Keynesian economics that have ushered in these dark days where state sponsored parasites are idolized, and productive capitalists are demonized. Add to that corrupt payoffs to political contributors like Solyndra and others which are deemed "business as usual" by the present day Democratic elite. Regulations are put in place aimed at reducing competition, exporting jobs to other nations, and crushing small business. This combination could doom any nation, but not necessarily the United States of America.

We have a unique opportunity in this country due to the vast amount of information available at our finger tips. We can find out if a politician genuinely embraces freedom and prosperity or just gives it lip service. Laws and regulations can actually be scrutinized and the consequences of their enactment analyzed on a cost to benefit basis. Crony capitalism and corruption can be exposed placing those who instigate it in the unemployment line. If this government would allow oil and gas production, new refineries, eliminate burdensome regulations on small business, and lower punitive tax rates there would be no unemployment problem. In these dark days of near collapse we need to rediscover our assets and use them, rather than rely upon some mystical force to suddenly pull us out of the hole regardless of our stupidity. This could be the dawn of an age unparalleled in human history, it is up to us.

As for the "Occupy" mob my father had a great idea, "give them a lollipop and send them home". It may be possible that some will discover the true cause of today’s debacle and even help in formulating a solution. Until then these people are not only a symptom, but part of the cause of our problem.

True freedom never comes at the expense of someone else!

Congressional Stupidity

We have 535 legislators who can’t agree on what bathroom door to use, probably because they can’t find their way out without a civilian guide. We pay them billions of dollars in salary, allow them millions each in graft (without going to prison), and then give them huge pensions with gold plated health care plans for life. These same politicians award extravagant wages to government employees, with huge pensions, and luxuriant health care for life. They allow overpaid regulators to destroy our livelihoods, and then give noble sounding names to these dictates. These elitists send billions of dollars to countries that hate us and always will, with no regard for where the money is coming from. We get stuck with a president who works harder at finding wars for our soldiers to get killed and maimed in than figuring out ways to allow a decent economy (that should be a no-brainer!). Here is a clue: cut regulations and stop spending money.

One of the main, and sacred duties of legislators is to write and pass a budget. They have not done so in nearly 3 years. Our soldiers have been performing their duties, and giving their lives the whole time for meager pay. Men and women in the private sector have been paying their taxes dutifully for all three years, and loosing their jobs.

We here lofty slogans like; "shared sacrifice". That means we in the private sector sacrifice and those in government share our money. Soldiers are giving their lives while politicians insult them.

Elected officials howl about the "evil rich" while funneling taxpayer money to them in the form of bailouts, grants, and stimulus funds. You can call me anything you want for a couple million dollars.

President Obama threatened to stop Social Security and Medicare payments if the debt ceiling was not increased. May I suggest that all pension and health care money for government be put into Social Security and Medicare. All government employees could then have exactly what the private sector has. Now that is a reform we could live with!

While the economy fails, people are loosing their jobs, and the constitutional rights of Americans are being stolen, Washington has gone on paid vacation. Tell them to get back there and do their jobs!

Congress has a 10% approval rating right now, and that is about the percentage of people getting rich on our money. That also means that the rest of us 90% need to wake up and throw these crooks out. We watch these self righteous buffoons pond their chests and try to convince us how great they are. Maybe they have convinced themselves, not me. Stop listening to their lies and look at the true consequences of their actions, and inaction's.

We now here of a 12 member "Super Committee" composed of the same legislators who have gotten us into this mess. That is the most moronic thing I have ever heard of! Once again we have congress not wanting to do their job. How about 12 regular small business men with 5 employees or less, those are the people who know the answers.

I apologize if I have offended anyone, but I am deeply offended by the shenanigans of government at all levels. I will be voting for the most honest and discerning individuals available. Let us hope that in 2012 there will be some decent choices.
